My Career

My Career

Many might call this a dream or a fantasy but when im 30 I want to be a professional bodybuilder. Although it is a dream of mine, it is also a goal in my life and I think if you don't follow your dreams than you're wasting your life. I wake up everyday chasing my dreamer and trying to reach my goal a little everyday. Being a professional bodybuilder is very good financially. They get paid by their sponsors, they get paid to compete and they get paid to do autograph sighings. Over the years bodybuilders have been getting paid more and more. The last Mr Olympia contest the winner received 1 million dollars plus a trophy. I can imagine how much many the prize will be by the time I turn professional and compete. But turning pro is not an easy walk in the park, it takes time and work hard.

Before you turn pro you have to go through many amateur competitions, and you have to win them. It takes about 5 years or more to get attention from professional companies. After you turn pro you have to win a couple shows before you join the Olympia contest. It is mandatory for you to win a Mr. Universe competition before you enter the Olympia. I am going to start competing at the age of 18 which is in one year, so I have a lot of work to do. If all goes well I will get my pro card at the age of 25 or 26. Bodybuilding will make me rich and it will be a dream come true.

free choice

Free Choice

Over spring break i went to Las Vegas, Nevada. My family was either thinking of gong to San Francisco or Las Vegas so we chose Vegas because its closer. From my house to vegas its about a 4 to 5 hour drive depending on the traffic. It took us about 4 hours and a half. we left at 11:00 and got there at 3:30. As soon as we entered Nevada, the weather changed quite a bit. The air got dryer, the sun was burning hotter, and it was windy. You could go outside in a tank top and shorts and not be cold at all during the day and night.

During the day you can go to the pool because of how hot it is. If you're under age you can't really do much at vegas but i tried my best to have fun. At night i walked around the vegas strip seeing all the beautiful lights and watching the street performers either dance, sing, back flip, or do magic. When i went this weekend i walked a lot almsot 3 hours walking up and down the strip we walked from one side of the strip to the other but we had to get a taxi back because it was way too far to walk back. Another thing i did was get on the famous roller coaster New York New York which was really fun.

A soon as i got out of the car in California i felt the big differnece in the weather and climate. The air was wet and cold, i could barely feel the suns heat anymore and i felt like i needed to put on a sweater. I like traveling because you can feel the difference in the weather and you can actually see it too. To me thats one of the coolest things ever, because in Costa Mesa its cold in the morning and a little hot in the afternoon but in vegas it starts off really hot and gets hotter as the day goes by, this is what i did over spring break.

Favorite Hobby

Favorite Hobby

My favorite hobby is bodybuilding. Going to the gym everyday and carrying heavy weight and working the muscle. This is has been my daily hobby for about two years now. From freshman year to now, i have gained about 50 pounds of solid muscle. The way my body type is i can't gain much fat just by eating like the average person so if the average person eats 2,500 calories a day, i have to eat about 4000 just to gain a pound of fat. Bodybuilding is my favorite hobby for many reasons: its good for your health, it pushes you to limits you've never gone too, it makes you look good and it relieves stress. I go to the gym everyday for about 2 hours maybe more sometimes, and time flies by there, i have never gotten injured in the gym only outside the gym. Some say it is a dangerous sport but if you know what you're doing you'll be safe. This is why bodybuilding is my favorite hobby.

about me

My name is Arnold Perez, I am 17 years old and I attend Back Bay high school. My old school was Estancia high school, but I came to back bay to make up the credits I was missing. I expect to go back my senior year and graduate at my old school. My hobbies are basketball, martial arts, and bodybuilding. Ever since I was a kid my favorite sport has been basketball. I’m good at it, and I understand it better than any other sport. I played basketball on my school team my freshman year. I also played basketball in a league my sophomore and junior year, and now I just play it for fun. I have been doing martial arts for about 3 years now. I have gotten really good at it and I have competed in advanced levels. I have been in 4 tournaments placing 3rd or higher in every single time. I stopped doing it for about 6 months or more due to a knee injury.

I have been bodybuilding for about 2 years now. It has changed my life and it is the sport I have had the most success in. I workout every week, 5 times a week. I never miss a workout and if I do I go twice as hard the second time. I have gone to a lot of shows and met professional bodybuilders and Mr. Olympia’s. I have gotten compliments from the greatest in the world which is why I continue to try harder everyday. My plan is to start competing when I turn 18 so I have a whole year to improve my weak points.
